Cloud services are at the heart of every business's digitalisation today, but migrating to them can have its challenges and difficulties. It is in such situations that they turn to Europe Cloud, a Bulgarian Google Cloud Partner and Premier Google Cloud Partner Reseller. The company has made it its mission to create a robust and innovative cloud market in the CEE region by making it easier for local economies to access cloud technology opportunities.

“We offer both resale and deployment of Google Cloud and Google Workspace services, where all of the company’s products such as Docs, Sheets, Slides, and DuetAI are available, at no additional commission. Since 2019, we have been growing both in terms of people and revenue,” says Jordan Mladenov, Managing Director of Europe Cloud. He adds that the company’s technical team of certified cloud architects also offers professional services (Professional Services), including everything from architecture and migrations, to system upgrades and automation, to security enhancements and much more.

“Whether the project is going to be AI-related, whether it’s going to be data-related, whether it’s going to be related to some kind of migration, we can cover the whole spectrum and range of tasks. Often customers are contacting us because they want to migrate from a data centre or another cloud provider to Google, or they want to optimise their systems not just in terms of cost but also in terms of the resources they’re using. They also come to us to enhance the security of their systems in one way or another. Accordingly, we also do security audits to check if there are any gaps at the infrastructure level that can be quickly and easily filled and remedied,” the expert says.

In addition to the professional services, Europe Cloud also offers 24/7 technical support provided by in-house teams. In Mladenov’s words, their services are sought by companies from all sectors, including fintech, e-commerce, logistics, gaming and even Web3. He admits that the only clients they don’t have yet are from the oil and gas sector.

Achievements

In its short existence, the company has supported over 2,000 projects for its clients in over 20 countries, and the recognition for its achievements is already there. According to Capital, Europe Cloud ranks in the top 10 fastest growing IT companies on the Bulgarian market. The company’s revenue for 2022 increased by 193% to BGN 17.2 million, and within the same year the company expanded its headcount from just one to eight employees. Europe Cloud’s headcount has now reached 24 people, and Mladenov says it is continuing to look for new hires.

After a stunning 2022, the successes don’t stop there, with the company being awarded Google Cloud Partner of the Year for 2023 for the entire EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region. In doing so, Europe Cloud is clearly stating its ambitions to become a significant player in the cloud industry in the region by supporting cloud transformation and optimization.

Although this year is just beginning, Mladenov stresses that 2024 has started very strongly and interestingly for the company, and he can’t wait to see how it ends. And the proof of the remarkable start is Europe Cloud’s participation in one of Google’s biggest conferences globally, Google Cloud Next, which will take place between April 9 and 11 and is expected to attract tens of thousands of visitors live and online this year. During the four-day event in Las Vegas, Alexander Alexiev, head of the technical team at Europe Cloud, will have the unique opportunity to talk about the experience gained by the Bulgarian team after multiple projects implemented to migrate to Google Cloud.

Alexiev has been part of the company since its beginning, and his expertise as a DevOps engineer and cloud architect is key to the organization. “Alexander Alexiev will talk more about the migration to Google Cloud, the steps to take, what to look out for, and how to upgrade the entire infrastructure when needed. He will also give a real-life example of how we helped a Bulgarian company operating in the global market to move from another cloud provider to Google Cloud, and at the same time we managed to reduce their monthly costs many times over,” Mladenov adds.

Another exciting event is on the horizon for Europe Cloud to take part in, namely Google Cloud Day Bulgaria, scheduled for 16 May at the Grand Millennium Hotel. The event promises to become a key one for the technology community in Bulgaria. Organised by Google, the conference aims to showcase the innovative potential of Google Cloud and its partners, including Europe Cloud as the premier sponsor of the event, to the local audience. With a focus on collaboration, education and networking, attendees can expect in-depth discussions, practical presentations and invaluable networking opportunities.

Don’t miss your chance to be a part of the first ever Google Cloud Day and experience the expertise and experience of Google Cloud and Europe Cloud! At the event, guests will have the opportunity to meet representatives from both companies and ask all their questions about the services and solutions we offer. You can find out more about the event on the Europe Cloud website.

In search of cloud services

The future certainly looks bright for Europe Cloud as many companies in the country are just looking into the cloud market and exploring its possibilities. According to Mladenov, Bulgarian companies still rely more on colocation than cloud, but that is changing. “Of course, every company has different aspects it analyses. For some, price is the most important, for others – security, for others – scalability. In other words, the decision often depends on the nature of the business, what it is, what it offers and where its core markets are,” Mladenov explains.

He gives the example that last year the trend towards cost optimisation was particularly strong, as well as exploratory talks towards GenAI integrations. Whether this optimization trend will continue in 2024 remains to be seen. In the meantime, more companies are becoming interested in implementing generative artificial intelligence into their operational work and looking at how innovative technology can contribute to efficiency gains, reveals the expert.
