From Notebook to Production: Build Intelligent Multi-Agent AI Applications on Google Cloud
Building a single AI agent has never been easier. Build Intelligent Multi-Agent AI Applications on Google Cloud is a one-day, hands-on technical workshop from Europe Cloud, led by certified instructors. In a single day, you’ll go from a local agent prototype to a fully managed, auto-scaling deployment – using Google’s Agent Development Kit (ADK) and Vertex AI Agent Engine.
A workshop for engineers who want to build, not watch
This isn’t a walkthrough of slides. It’s a working session. You’ll write agents, connect them, deploy them, and evaluate them — and walk out with a functioning multi-agent application you can carry straight into your own projects.
The Agent Development Kit is Google’s framework for building agentic systems in a structured, maintainable way. Rather than gluing prompts together by hand, you define agents with clear tools and responsibilities, then connect them through parent-child relationships and flows that determine how work is delegated and passed along. Vertex AI Agent Engine then takes that system and runs it as a managed service – handling the infrastructure decisions and resource scaling so you can focus on agent behaviour instead of servers.
What you’ll build in one day
The day moves through the full lifecycle of a multi-agent system, from first principles to a live deployment:
- Get started with the ADK – understand how it compares to tools like the Google Gen AI SDK and LangChain, and learn the core building blocks of an agent.
- Empower agents with tools – give agents real capabilities, and see why structured docstrings and typing matter when you write tool functions.
- Build multi-agent systems – connect multiple agents through parent-child relationships and flows, and use session memory, artifact storage, and callbacks to coordinate their behaviour.
- Deploy to Vertex AI Agent Engine – understand why a managed engine beats self-hosting for multi-agent systems, then deploy your app and query it live as a managed agentic flow.
- Evaluate your agents – measure agent performance directly within the ADK and review the results through its web interface.
Who should attend
This is an advanced course, and it’s aimed at people who build. Machine learning engineers, generative AI engineers, and software engineers moving into agentic systems will get the most from it. To keep the pace hands-on rather than introductory, we recommend attendees arrive comfortable with Python, generative AI prompt engineering, and gen AI tool use. Bring a laptop — you’ll be writing and running code throughout the day.
